In Poetically Pieced

PreviousNext

Fun challenge - though I'm, ah, not much of a poet. Thoughts are welcome - written on the run.

Once a sad fellow -
Brenaeus Bree;
A wanderer of far southern seas
Looked to the jungles
Of Perth and of São’
And found something wild
(who knows just quite how)

Under the canopy
Of full blackened leaves
Dripping with dew and sorrowing weeds
He looked for some little
Furred cupid or louse
And found something wild
(for certain no mouse!)

A garish-mouth monster
Shivering breeze -
This horror of dark an’ distant trees.
It burst from the jungle
A flash and a wail -
Wings rainbow razors
(but its jaws gnashing nails).

Poor Brenaeus Bree
With a start and shout
Swinging for camera in full-fearful rout
Knew he had found aught
More than he’d tried
A bird - air pirahna
(“an alligator!” he cried).

Under still shadow
Of creeping silt rain
Shadows lay oiled and filtering day.
And all that remained
Of Brenaeus Bree -
A Polaroid camera
(last moments blurred rain).

But still in the wilds
Monster awaits
Another sad fellow
(be warned of Bree's fate).

Heh, thanks TBR. ^_^ It was rather fun to write as well.

(Go ahead and switch sides. It's all relative, isn't it?)

I'm glad you liked it.

This was soooooooooooooo cute!
I don't mean to come off weird but it was cute.
Nice one and I hope you win! IT WAS SO ADORABLE!
*Will later probably become neutral or switch sides.*

You won't know the outcome of something unless you try it.
